Eagles in big trouble

Put a fork in them, the Philadelphia Eagles are done.

Not only did they get completely outplayed by an inferrior Tennessee Titans team in a 31-13 defeat, but the Eagles lost their best player for the season.

Racing towards the sideline in the second quarter, McNabb was bumped as he threw an incomplete pass. He was checked by trainers and carted off to the locker room.

McNabb tore his ACL and it was announced after the game that he will be out for eight months to a year.

Once again, the Eagles stunk on defense, giving up a 200 yards on the ground and a 70-yard touchdown run by Travis Henry. They also allowed a 90-yard punt return for a touchdown.

And once again, the play calling was suspect.

With the ball at the one inch line and third down, coach Andy Reid decided to pass the ball and McNabb threw an interception.

Dropped passes were yet another reoccurring issue. Philadelphia dropped at least a half dozen of them.

With the toughness of the schedule the rest of the way and with its best player out, it is not looking good for the Eagles to make a run at the playoffs. At 5-5, they actually are not too far behind in the mediocre NFC. However, their next 5 games are against Indianapolis, Carolina, and then three straight division games on the road.

It's definitely not looking good, which raises the question, what now?

It is clear the Eagles need to shake things up. They are not going to win with this team.

Personally, I think it is time for Reid to go. But will the front office fire him? I doubt it.

But I just don't see the Eagles getting better under this coaching staff. Their losses this year have been unexcusable.

Reid and company have done a lot for this organization. He had a nice run. But it is time for him to go. He has lost this team and the fans.

The Eagles are going backwards. They are going to miss the playoffs for the second straight season. They have played horrible since starting the season 4-1.

All I can do right now is shake my head in disappointment, along with the rest of the Philadelphia fans.
