McNabb deserves a title in Philadelphia

Donovan McNabb started his NFL career by hearing boos from Philadelphia fans.

Eight years later, controversy again surrounds the star quarterback. This time, there is thought that the Eagles have drafted his future replacement.

After all McNabb has done for the Eagles and the city, he deserves to win a Super Bowl with this team. He needs to win it all with this team.

Now is not the time to give up on McNabb, and I am not saying the Eagles are. If he can stay healthy, who knows, maybe the Eagles will trade Kevin Kolb in a few years.

The Eagles and McNabb have come close to a Super Bowl quite a bit. They made it to four straight NFC Championship games four years in a row. They went to the Super Bowl one of those years.

While the fans were very frustrated that they did not win a championship during that time, a lot of credit needs to be given to the Eagles. To make it that far consistently is no easy task.

McNabb deserves more credit than he is given. He is one of the best quarterbacks in the league, a leader, a humble man, a great teammate, and a big part of the community.

But Philadelphia fans want more. They want a championship.

I for one, really want McNabb to be a part of that. It just would not be the same without McNabb in the middle of a Super Bowl title celebration.

Whether or not McNabb will come back from last season's ACL injury fully healthy is unknown. Whether he will stay healthy is unknown.

But it is known that when healthy McNabb is one of the best.

He was having a career year last year before going down. And I would expect more of the same this year. The Eagles saw down the stretch last year that running the ball more helps their team. I would expect more of the same, which will allow McNabb to not be the only one making plays.

McNabb does not deserve the criticism he has received. He did not deserve the boos when he was drafted.

Let's just hope McNabb will end his career with cheers and a Super Bowl title.

I know I will cheer for McNabb to matter what.

Although, a title sure would be nice.
